A lot of good work never reaches anyone, because having the heart for something and having the means to share it aren’t the same thing. The studio closes that gap — I collaborate with people and causes I believe in to get their vision into the world.
The kind of work I take
There’s a pattern in what I build, and I choose it on purpose. I’m drawn to the divergent ones.
The counselor who threw out the script. The recovery house that refuses to look like one. The ministry asking the questions the church would rather not hear out loud. The nonprofit built by people who got tired of watching the old model fail. Different fields, same divergence underneath — helping somebody trade the polished front for something true, and find healing on the other side.
Work like that is genuinely hard to present. Go clinical and it turns cold. Go polished and it starts to sound like a pitch. Both of those are just hiding in a different outfit. What it usually needs is plain, quiet, and unembarrassed — a site that stands in the open without overselling and without apologizing for existing.
That’s the part I’m actually good at. It’s also the part most people building these sites get wrong, and I think it’s because they’ve never had to stand on the other side of that door.
A few things here are mine, or belong to people I’m close to. They’re in the gallery because I made them and I stand behind them, not because they fit the pattern. The rest are here because they do.

How it goes

You tell me what the site has to do. Not what it should look like — what it has to accomplish. Two different problems, and the second one is easier once the first is settled.

I tell you whether I’m the right person. Sometimes the answer is no, and it costs you nothing to find that out early. I’d rather say so than take work I’ll do badly.

You get something beautiful that actually works. Fast, built to current standards, and found — by search engines and by the AI assistants people increasingly ask instead.
